The Night The Phones Fell Silent
The Night The Phones Fell Silent
On 18 February 2006, thirteen teenagers walked along Myall Street in Cardross after a taxi driver dropped them off at the wrong address. Not long after, at 9.50pm, 34-year-old Thomas Towle drove his Ford EA Falcon station wagon down the same road with his 4-year-old son on his lap before suddenly losing control and hitting the group, resulting in the death of six and injury to many others.
This publication examines the tragic events and their consequences, including the police investigation, legal proceedings, guilty verdict, and psychological aftermath that followed. Amid the devastation, Marco Medici, at the peak of his life, had his world turned upside down in an instant. Clinically dead for seven minutes, he underwent numerous extensive surgeries, suffered through years of physical therapy, and struggled with psychological distress for more than eighteen years. Finally, he can share his story of survival.
